Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) will continue to build its Rumah Idaman series in key and potential locations in Selangor, according to its chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim.

He listed the neighbourhoods as Sabak Bernam, Petaling, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Klang, and Kuala Selangor.

According to Raja Ahmad, a total of 45,760 units of Rumah Idaman among the 24 projects that PNSB will carry out will be built through the participation of strategic alliances.

Through previously implemented projects, a total of 2,059 units of Idaman Abadi in Kajang 2 have been completed while 1,260 units of Idaman Bukit Jelutong are in progress.

Raja Ammah said in his remarks during the launch of Idaman Melur by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari last week that Idaman Abadi and Idaman Bukit Jelutong have been sold out.

Idaman Melur is the second of PNSB and MGB Berhad's six Rumah Idaman MBI projects.

The project, which has a total of 1,448 units and is priced at RM250,000, is situated in Cybersouth, Sepang. It comprises two blocks of 23-story apartments.

Despite their low asking prices, the apartments have appliances like water heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators, closets, and kitchen cabinets.

MGB executive vice-chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San said in a statement that the company is pleased to share the government's passion for ensuring housing is made affordable and attainable by every Malaysian.

"With our extensive years of experience in construction, we are confident in delivering quality Rumah Idaman MBI homes that will raise the benchmark for affordable housing in Selangor," he said in a statement recently.

The six Rumah Idaman MBI projects comprise a total of 7,210 units of affordable apartments and will be constructed using MGB's in-house Industrialised Building System (IBS) pre-cast technology.

PCSB-MGB Consortium, a joint venture between MGB and PNSB Construction Sdn Bhd, a PNSB subsidiary, will construct the projects.

All Rumah Idaman MBI developments feature apartments with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a minimum built-up space of 1,000 square feet per unit, all of which are priced at RM250,000.

Idaman Bandar Saujana Putra, the first Rumah Idaman MBI project, was launched in October 2021 with a significant take-up rate for nearly all units that were issued in stages.

By 2023, MGB plans to launch and begin construction on the final four Rumah Idaman MBI projects.

"We are pleased that our internal IBS precast system is being incorporated into the Rumah Idaman MBI developments. This is aligned with our goal of becoming the leading housing solution provider through our IBS system," Lim said.

Lim said MGB's short-term objective is to make sure that the remaining Rumah Idaman MBI projects are launched on schedule, which will then open the door for constant replenishment of the order book in the following years.
