The countdown is on for the public opening of the Battersea Power Station on October 14, 2022.

That's when Londoners and out-of-town visitors will be able to explore the interior of this landmark building ( II ) for the first time and enjoy its mix of stores, bars, restaurants, and leisure facilities.

To celebrate this historic moment, the Festival of Power will take place October 14-16 and October 22-23, with a programme of live performances, family-friendly activities, and installations.

The Festival of Power will accompany the first UK and international brands to open their stores in the power station's unique turbine halls, which have been restored to their former glory.

New stores opening from October include Ralph Lauren, Mulberry, Theory, Lacoste, Polestar, Aesop, Space NK, Ace + Tate, Lululemon, Hugo Boss, Jo Malone London, Uniqlo, and Mango.

A new bookstore, Battersea Bookshop, by bookseller Stanfords, and a pop-up by Curated Makers, where more than 40 independent local small businesses sell homewares, candles, clothing, artwork, and more, will also open in Power Station.

Additional brands will open for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023.

Also opening in October is Lift 109, a unique glass elevator in the northwest chimney that offers breathtaking panoramic views of London from 109 metres above the ground.

Electric Boulevard, the new pedestrian walkway between Gehry Partners' Prospect Place and Foster + Partners' Battersea Roof Gardens, will form the main gateway between the power station and London Underground's Zone 1 station.

Brands that have already announced they will open on Electric Boulevard starting Oct 14 include international favourite ZARA, Korean food and cultural centre Oseyo, optician David Clulow and new concept M&S Food Hall.

London-based fitness brand Third Space will also open a 28,000-square-foot club in 2023. "In less than three weeks, Battersea Power Station and Electric Boulevard will open, so the countdown is on.

"In less than three weeks, Battersea Power Station and Electric Boulevard will open, so the countdown is on. To mark this momentous occasion, we are hosting the Festival of Power, which will give Londoners, the local and wider community, and visitors from around the world the opportunity to experience this iconic building for the first time. It will be a truly memorable event with something for everyone," said Simon Murphy, managing director of Battersea Power Station Development Company.

The public opening of Battersea Power Station and Electric Boulevard follows the opening of Circus West Village in 2017, the first completed chapter of Battersea Power Station's regeneration, which is already home to more than 1,800 residents and more than 20 bars, restaurants, cafes, fitness and leisure facilities.
